Hi everyone!

Homeschoolers here. Wanted to see if there is anyone active here on the homeschool forum. Needs a little dusting around here.

We have two kids, one was homeschooled K and 1st, started 2nd in a government elementary school for a little break, but then after quickly realizing the error of our ways, went back to homeschooling. Was always our plan to return to homeschooling, but we beat feet back quicker than we thought we would. Our youngest will start homeschooling next year. We use Seton Curriculum and love it.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. Look forward to getting these forums active and meeting everyone!

We used Seton too. Excellent results.
We especially liked their religion curricula.
We did high school as we had access to a Catholic elementary thriugh 8th.
We were among the first at Seton and they were very accommodating at including courses from other homeschooling sources. Also, we devised our own pre-calculus course and they reviewed and accepted the work for the transcripts.
We've a master's degree and a PhD among 2 of our 3 students. The third did a double major in college. All won financial aid in competitions among incoming freshman.
Not to give too much credit to the curricula, they were all good students and good learners.

Regards,
Old Sigma

I agree Old Sigma and I have already mentioned this.

I'll be visiting this forum more frequently once our growing pains subside.

Blessings,

Mary

We have been homeschooling since 1998, when my oldest was in second grade. We originally used Seton's whole program, but now only use Seton's books with some other books I have found. My oldest is now in 11th grade, my second is in 9th grade, and my youngest is in 1st grade.

We used Saxon's book for mathematics skills in the early HS years and our own college calculus books to develop a pre-calculus course in the last year. Our two students did most of the work at that point.
I covered French with our third home-schooler and my wife did the Latin with all of them.
We used happenstance texts mostly but for the Latin for which reliance was on the HS texts my wife had saved.
(The most articulate of the three entered an adult Bible study in our parish and I believe learned a lot there. This of course was outside the recorded curricula.)

Old Sigma
