Please pray for my fiance, that he be granted a miracle from God, if it be in His will, that he be cured of congestive heart failure. He is only 45 years old. Thank you.

God loves you .
I know the malady well! Your man is in my prayers. May he live, and thrive in health, to see a hundred years - and you right alongside to enjoy them with him.
Oh, Lord, yet only if it is Your will . . . even as we trust to Your miraculous kindnesses.
Remember, I love you, too .

Where is the faith that can move mountains into the sea? Where are the two, gathered in His name, that ask and receive what they ask for? Why do we not do as Jesus asks and in confidence speak to the Father, through the Son, with the Power of the Holy Spirit? Why do we include "only if the Father wills such" in our petitions?
I love you all, and Merry Christmas to each of you. Please do not take offense but see this post for what it is-a question{s} of faith.
In Christ,

Thanks for any prayers, but, a fascinating thought . . .
We in CE batter heaven's gates for each other. God hears, and is delighted. And, He gives us some miracles out of our prayers to cause yet more prayers ("Those WORKED! Let's try THESE!")
How would God be God if He were not so very canny?
And, David T, I copied out your tiny avatar - and blew it up - and whoever is 'holding up' the sun has an aura about him (her?) Or, were you (he, she) being toasted holding up all that warmth?
Remember, I love you, too .

Ah, Warren, do you refer me to the lesson of Job for my inquiry into faith? Or do you suggest something else...?
The will of the Father is to glorify the Son and the will of the Son is to glorify the Father. Jesus says if one has faith as small as a mustard seed, one could command a mountain to move. Nothing will be impossible for one with faith. I realize the prayer that is answered may not be the one for healing and continued life on this earth, but I can't help but wonder, and I understand that His will be done whether I like it or not.
Since we are overlapping discussion in the prayer zone, may I offer the Memorare of St Bernard for our sister in Christ.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, and sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother, to thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful, O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but, in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.
In Christ,
Remember, the Sun is always shining!

Why do we include "only if the Father wills such" in our petitions?
1. Father knows best.
2. Whatever comes around, and/or goes around, and has impact on any of us is God's will. True, some sinner's sin against you is NOT His will, but just as truly how it affects you is.
3. The example of our Christ is to seek the Lord's will and all else will come, according to His will.
4. and finally - your will, my will - Ppffttt!

Well David, even Jesus asked that the cup be taken from Him "If it be your will" He said...
I also feel that if one is not cured with prayer, one can simply acknowledge that it was not in His will. People need to be comforted if things do not go their way.

Benedict,
Excellent! Thank you. May you and your fiance living in the fear of God receive, by the power of the Holy Spirit, the healing you desire. Through Christ our Lord and by the will of our loving Father. Amen.
